# ask

Docs for TrueQuery 0.1.6. A plain-English answer to a data question, with how sure it is and which definition it used. No SQL needed.

**For anyone, no SQL needed.** In Claude Code this is a `/truequery` slash command. In Muse Code, describe the task in your own words, or load the skill with `/skill truequery`. In Codex the skill isn't here yet, only the checks.

```
/truequery ask how much money did we make last month?
```

## What you get

1. **The number,** with its unit and period.
2. **What it means,** in a sentence or two.
3. **How sure it is, and why.**
4. **What it assumed,** in everyday words.

The SQL and the checks it ran sit under a collapsed "How I got this" section. If the data can't answer the question, it says what's missing instead of guessing.

## A real answer

From the demo shop, in part:

> **About $8,863 in March 2025**
>
> How sure I am: I'm confident in this number, with one caveat. The shop's ready-made revenue report shows $11,820.53 for the same month, and I think that report is wrong, not my number. The $2,958 gap comes from two problems in that report:
>
> - $2,368 comes from 5 orders by customers whose accounts were deleted. The shop's rules say deleted accounts are left out of headline numbers, but the report includes them.

The numbers follow your definitions. If a term has a house meaning, the headline uses it and says so, with other readings below.
